In today’s fast-paced and competitive work environment, mental health at the workplace has emerged as a crucial aspect of overall well-being. As we navigate through our daily tasks and responsibilities, it is essential to acknowledge the impact of our work culture, collaboration with colleagues, and personal care on our mental health.

By prioritizing our well-being and fostering a supportive work environment, we can unlock our full potential, enhance productivity, and create a foundation for sustainable success. In this post, we will explore three simple perspectives on building strong relationships with coworkers, and nurturing a healthy mindset that promotes resilience and growth.

CONFLICTS

Every few days, we will come across situations where another person might not share the same views as ours, resulting in a conflict. And every time, there is a conflict, emotions take over and your thinking brain takes a back seat. At such times, and for every other situation in life, remember the triangle above.

Instead of blaming the situation on another person (that bad person), or considering yourself as a weak person who is unable to fight up towards their boss (poor me), try to focus on “What can I do now?”.

This is the first step to get out of any conflict.

Try to build strong relationships at work. And the higher up you are on the pyramid, the stronger your relationships should be.

STUCK

I wrote a post on this topic some time ago. When you fell stuck at work, you have 3 options that you can focus on – Change it, Leave it or Love it.

FEAR VS COURAGE

Last but not the least, if you are afraid of doing anything new, learning anything new and are not ready to take any risk at all because of the fear of failure, you will end up being dissatisfied and disliked. As Yoda said in Star Wars:

Courage is important to operate effectively in any domain of work – whether you are creating new innovative products, working together with client teams across multiple locations OR helping your team in critical situations.

BONUS hint – BE PROFESSIONAL.
1. To maintain relationships at work, with colleagues or clients, does not mean you have to give in to unclear or untimely demands.
2. Use escalation management processes where required.
3. Ensure you always deliver to the best of your abilities and keep up to your delivery promises.
4. Be process oriented instead of people dependent, especially when working in bigger teams.

    I will also add here…
Everyone wants to succeed and sometimes that causes conflicts. But we need to keep in mind that no one comes to workplace with a destructive mindset. All of us are only human…no one is ANGEL or DEMON (I guess you also mentioned this in some other post which could be linked here…may be :))

As much as we can keep stoic attitude, good for everyone’s mental health.
